Site-specific performance by Marta Lodola, duration 15 min. Materials: aluminium foil, man’s shoes, acrylic red wool, interaction with the wind
On an established route, along a signpost at the former Berlin Tempelhof airport, I walk wearing men shoes larger than my size and my head is wrapped in aluminium foil moved by the wind. The sound of the shoes dragged on the asphalt mixes with the sound of the aluminium foil. My belly is wrapped in red woollen yarn. I relate this action to becoming a child again, when I wore my father’s shoes for fun. My difficult relationship with him certainly marked my life as an individual. I remove the mask to become myself, I leave the past behind, I am ready to heal.
