PUBLIC ENEMY

Photo performance by Marta Lodola. Material: Keffiyeh.
The growing persecution of foreigners in our nation is referenced in this series of self-release photographs. The Keffiyeh holds great symbolic significance for force and tenacity in the Palestinian resistance. Why is it that developed nations constantly need to choose a public enemy? Because of this, it may become acceptable to persecute, violently attack, and terrorize those with migrant histories.
Denouncing citizens as terrorists serves as a justification for genocide, torture, and killings. Less acceptance of inequality and diversity has resulted from the rise of nationalism in Italy.
